#Gemology
Gemology is a match-3 mini game, which allows you to earn additional Gems in League of Angels.
Introduction:
1. There are two Gemology modes, beginner and advance.
2. Beginner opens at Lvl. 26, while advance opens at Lvl. 45.
3. Beginner mode drops 6 types of gems: HP, PATK, PDEF, MATK, MDEF, and AGI
4. Advanced mode drops 5 types of gems: Dodge, Accuracy, Crit, Block, and Endurance
Rules
1. In Gemology, there are 5 different colors of stones. Match at least 3 of the same color to get a prize.
2. You can change the position of any stone by selecting one stone, then selecting an adjacent stone.
3. You can change to position of a stone even if it does not lead to a match.
4. Each time you move a stone, you use 1 energy, when you are out of energy, you must wait until the next day to try again.
5. The more matched you make in a single turn, the better prizes you receive.
Points System
1. You can receive additional prizes according to the amount of points you earn in a single day, there are 8 prizes in total, and each may only be collected once a day.
2. Your points are reset daily.
3. Prizes are rewards for earning the following: 100 points, 200 points, 500 points, 1000 points, 5000 points, 10000, 50000, and 100000 points.
More Tips
The mini-game Gemology resembles one of the oldest gem/jewel games out there called Bejewled with a few minor modifications. The very first diference is the fact that you don't need to create a 3-pair in order to move a gem. That actually gives you quite a bit of leeway in what regards how many pieces at once you can connect.
The best way to actually get a lot of points with a minimum amount of moves.
Bear in mind: having multiple combos done at the same time (2 sets of 3 or 4 or 5) multiplies the amount of points you'd normally get by 5. For example, you get 10 points for 3 gems in a row, then you get 10 x 5 = 50 points for 2 sets of 3-in-a-row gems. If you get 20 points for 4 gems in a row, then you get 20 x 5 = 100 points!!
Points:
3 of same color - 10 points
4 of same color -20 points:
5 of same color - 50 points:
2 sets of 3 at the same time - 10 x 5 = 50 points
3 gems in a row and 4 gems in a row at the same time - 60 points [ (10 + 20) x 2 = 60 ] I guess lol
So maybe if you get 3 gems in a row and 5 gems in a row at the same time, you'll get [ (10 + 50) x 2 = 120 ], 120 points?? This is yet to be proven.
EXTRA TIPS:
1) Every gem synth has 75% of success rate. That means if you wish to synth 100 gems, you manage to synth only 75 of them.
2) The use of synth scroll or extra money boosts gem synth's success rate to 100%.
3) However, using synth scroll/extra money every time you synth a gem is horribly expensive, and not practical.
4) So, one wise practice would be to use and only use synth scroll/extra money when you are about to synth gems Level 4 and above.
Gemology Points Reward:
Which tier of gemology points gives the best reward? 1000 points tier does. Why? It has the greatest ratio of Number of Gems awarded : Gem Energy consumed. 1000 points gives the best reward out of all points if you only consider the total number of gems gained per energy used.
HOWEVER, some people think 5000 points reward gives better reward because it gives more ready-made high level gems although it gives less 3 level 2 gems compared to 1000 points reward. In this case, 5000 points reward gives less gems in overall, but it has more high level gems, so you don't have to spend synth scrollx or extra money to make sure 100% success rate to synth the gems.
To learn more how to calculate the ratio concerned, kindly refer to Dragonsouls section in the same board: Walkthroughs and Strategies.
For the current game setting, we receive extra 20 gem energy from cards for every game reset. I used up all the available gem energy in one reset and the most points I could go was 1880 or sometimes 1990, without hitting 2000 points!
For safety counts, I take that every single gem energy yields an average of 20 gemology points, which remains an assumption.
